Number 114:  June 21, 2007

This weekend there will be a Renewed Vision weekend in Denver. I first heard the concept of God’s Word over the World in the 1970’s. It was to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to every nation, to every state, to every community to give everyone an opportunity to hear about the accomplishments of Jesus Christ in order to believe regarding him. This had been a desire of God since Christ Jesus ascended into heaven.

I Timothy 2:4 and 5:

Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.

Since there is only one true God and one true savior, this message of deliverance needed to be spoken about everywhere. In fact Jesus Christ in his resurrected body declared this truth to his apostles before he ascended into heaven.

Mark 16:15 and 16;

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

This was a change in policy. Up until this time in history, the children of Israel were God’s adopted chosen people. God had given them a land that He had promised to Abraham and they were to live there. If someone wanted to know about their God Jehovah, there were provisions made in the Law to allow them to convert.

Acts 1:8:

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

When Christ Jesus made this announcement to the apostles, he told them to wait for power, the gift of holy spirit first before reaching out to the world. Also they were to start at home, where they were living, then reach out systematically to the rest of the world.

This gift of holy spirit would enable them with power that would be their strength to carry out this mission and to do whatever God needed them to do. It also gave them the ability to withstand whatever pressure would come their way in their quest. They accepted the honor and went forth boldly, God working with them. Today, the born again saints have been handed this worthy responsibility. It is up to us to continue to reach out with the greatness of God’s Word and demonstrate His power everywhere. It is time.  It’s the first day of summer, there is no snow in sight, let’s get busy for God!
