Before We Get Gathered
Number 63: August 6, 2006
We are the Continuously Dynamic Church today. “Dynamic” denotes an ability to
change. It contrasts stagnation, which connotes inactivity, apathy, disinterest,
indifference, lack of concern, or sameness. A true dynamic church is a changing
church that operates God’s power based on His written Word. We are dynamic
because we have been given the ability to change and effectively meet every new
and different situation with God’s effectual power.
Romans 10:9:
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in
thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Confessing Jesus as lord and really believing in one’s heart that God raised
Jesus from the dead gives one eternal life. The person who makes this confession
goes from eternal death to eternal life, and will never more come into
condemnation. That is quite a dynamic change!
I Corinthians 15:51 and 52:
Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be
changed,
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet
shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be
changed.
When Christ returns to gather his Church, those who believed regarding him will
be changed forever into a new spiritual body. Then they will be with the lord
eternally.
Philippians 3:21:
Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious
body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto
himself.
These are two major changes in one’s life. Going from eternal death to eternal
life and then being changed into the new body which is unlimited in scope and
ability. In-between these changes, we need to endeavor to keep God first, not in
slavery but as children enjoying our heavenly Father and all His benefits.
II Timothy 3:16:
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine,
for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
God in the Bible has given words that will help us to keep Him first. He has
given us the doctrine to life that instructs us on how to put and keep him in
His proper position. He has also given us words of reproof that show us where we
are off, and then how to get back right with Him. This requires meekness,
humbleness and change. We do it out of love and gratitude, so we can be our best
for Him, and also because we will be rewarded for all eternity. Thus, godly
change and growth is good. Try to be more dynamic today as you continue to walk
with and for Him.
