Before We Get Gathered

Number 73: September 27, 2006

E. W. Bullinger, in appendix 2 of the Companion Bible, sums up the vital importance of the book of Genesis:

“Genesis is the seed-plot of the whole Bible. It is essential to the true understanding of its every part. It is the foundation on which Divine Revelation rests; and on which it is built up. It is not only the foundation of all Truth, but it enters into, and forms part of, all subsequent inspiration; and is at once the warp and woof of Holy Writ.”

If a foundation is weak then any structure built thereon will ultimately fall. Through the years the Devil and his minions patiently and expertly have been chipping away at the foundation upon which our country was built. Obviously, this is not good for any nation or for Christianity in general. Ultimately it is not good for anyone regardless of their religion or lack thereof. Denial on a legal basic of Biblical truths and replacing them with lies can only lead to destruction.

The following quotes in italics are from “Legal Consequences When Creation Is Forgotten” by Jeffery J. Ventrella[1].

He points out that there are 5 key issues being fought over in the courts. The first 2 are:

1) “…There is a pre-existent God who creates, from nothing, everything.”

This issue is being fought in the courts today concerning whether public schools can teach “intelligent design” in addition to evolution. The Scopes trial started it and it has continued for the last 80 years. The Scopes trial dealt with the issue raised by a law in Tennessee in 1925 that stated that it was unlawful for any public school “to teach any theory that denies the story of the Divine Creation of man as taught in the Bible, and to teach instead that man has descended from a lower order of animals.[2]” Today it has degraded to where the Christian argument is for the more generic “intelligent design” instead of the less generic “Divine Creation.”

2) “God shaped what He created into various inanimate objects but then created living things like plants and animals, which reproduced “according to their kind.””

Scientists have successfully cloned same-kind animals (sheep from sheep, etc.) but are also attempting to cross-clone animals of a different kind much like they have crossbred plants. They call this “hybrid transpersonalism” and the man who cloned Dolly the sheep is requesting a legal license to merge rabbits and humans at the cellular level. This leads to plants and animals that cannot reproduce thus causing a shortage of seed and ultimately to extinction. Plus, science playing God by trying to produce only genetic giants after what they deem is right, not how God created it, very good-because it all fit together properly.
