Before We Get Gathered

Number 82: November 6, 2006

Every person who has ever lived with the exception of Jesus Christ has sinned. Sin is independence from God. It is disobedience to His will. It is ignoring God’s will and doing what you want to do rather than what He wants you to do. Sin is missing the mark or wandering from the path of uprightness. It is not walking in alignment and harmony with your heavenly Father.

Romans 3:23:

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.

Romans 3:9 and 10:

What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;

As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Sin is sin. There are no degrees of sin to God. If you do not spend time to find out what His will is for your life, how could you ever live for Him? Everyone has an opportunity to be forgiven by God because of Jesus Christ’s completed work. Jesus Christ died to pay for all sins for all time.

II Corinthians 5:15 and 21:

And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Since God has forgiven us of all our sins, we should be able to forgive anyone who we perceive has sinned against us, or hurt us in any way.

Ephesians 4:32:

And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

When we confess our sins, our shortcomings, our unrighteousness, our disobedience to God, our independence from His will, He will forgive us completely, and forget what we have done.

I John 1:9:

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Psalm 103:9,10,12,14:

He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.

He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.
