John 20:3-10, 19-22   14:12,16-21 comfort and love 23-29

Luke 24:36-49 He arose, and a promise is coming. Then proclaim it.

John 20:30,31 Acts 1:4,5 2:1-4, 38,39

John 3:16,17  Jesus was God’s plan for redeeming mankind, for saving mankind. His death and resurrection are part of the plan. He did it because He loved. God loved us enough to save us. Mankind was worth keeping.

Specifically what do we need to believe regarding Jesus Christ. Romans 10:9-11 Saved, made whole. Anyone who adheres to, relies on, and trusts in him, shall be disappointed in their expectations. I John 3:1,2 Now we are His children because of the love of the Father.

II Corinthians 5:18,19 Col. 1:27 God in Christ in you. God is with us at all times. I Peter 1:23

Romans 6:23 Nothing can separate us from His love. God is always with us.  Romans 8:31-39

He never leaves us or forsakes us. Hebrews 13:5 That’s comforting.

Hebrews 12:1-3 We can look back and enjoy the benefits of his accomplishments to get strength.

Psalm 139:8 Great FOS. It marks the highs and lows to life. God is with us wherever we go and in any situation we are in.

[BAD] BUT what about us? Do we remember He’s always with us? Include him in our plans. When we are “in heaven” do we remember to thank Him for His blessings. Are we trying to find out what He wants us to do? Do we know what His will is for our lives?

OR do we only remember Him in times of trouble? Is God your caring loving heavenly Father or is He just an emergency God? Someone to turn to only as a last resort, when all you have is a prayer left? What kind of relationship do you have with Him?

Psalm 118:5,6 David, the Psalmist, called upon the name of the Lord and He heard him.

Massoretic text reads: “I called upon Yah [God] in distress, He answered me with deliverance.”

God is always with us so then we don’t need to have any fear. Where you have fear you can’t believe the promises of God. The 1st place in the Bible fear or afraid comes up is in Genesis 3.

Genesis 2:15-17, 3:4-10a Original sin. This action brought the need for a saviour. The first time that man was afraid he hid himself from God. Fear was a result of the guilt and condemnation of breaking God’s commandment.

Adam had fear toward God. He ran away and hid from God. Broken fellowship with God produced fear. Fellowship with God eliminates fear. All other fears stem from a lack of confidence in God.

NOWING GOD’S PRESENCE DISPELS FEAR

Gen. 26:24 God told Isaac that He did not need to fear because he was with him.

Num. 14:8,9  Deut. 20:1  Joshua 1:9, Psalm 23:4  David

God is with us today! It’s God in Christ in you in the new birth.

Psalm 46:1,2,11 Anything we are afraid of we hold in greater awe than God.

Psalm 34:4 If you find yourself afraid, ask God to set you free from that fear.

[GOOD] But what about when things are going good, when we are “in heaven?” Man has a tendency to forget about God and His goodness. Do we allow the will of God into our lives, or since we are doing such a good job ourselves why bring God into the picture?

God had Moses warn the Israelites about complacency in prosperity. Deut. 8:10-19.

Matthew 22:36-40 This is our honest response for what God has done for us. Love and obey Him. Then we can live without fear.

Let’s keep priorities and understanding who God is and what He does straight.

Eph. 5:15-20 Enjoy his accomplishments.
