Spring Time

This time of year is an excellent time to look ahead and also to clean house. It’s a mental time to remove the physicals not needed and to clean house mentally. More so than January 1.

They cleaned house in the book of Acts with the end result being that the Word of God prevailed. God’s Word took preeminence in people’s lives.

Acts 19:18 And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds.

19 Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.

20 So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.

Too many people want God to stay as Lord of heaven and not to interfere with what they want to on earth. They don’t want him to be Lord of earth.

Matthew 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

King David wanted God to show him where he was doing something wrong.

Psalm 139:23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:

24 And see if there be any wicked way [idol or false paths] in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

If David who was the king could ask God to show him where he was off, what about us?

Philippians 3:15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

16 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.

What are the thoughts, the things we care for?

Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Let us think the same thoughts [phronema].The thoughts of Christ.

Romans 13:11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

13 Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.

14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

Literal according to usage of Romans 13:12-13:

Our alienation from Christ because he has not returned is about over with, for the day of Christ’s return to gather his saints unto himself is just momentary. Therefore, make an immediate and complete decision to put on in your renewed mind, love without hypocrisy, which is the spiritual weapon that dispels all darkness.

Get control of our thinking patterns and align them with God’s Word.

II Corinthians 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

Literal according to usage:

Demolish your human logic from the high position to which you have lifted it vertically against the knowledge of God which you have known by experience; be wise, lead captive everything to Christ which you have attentively listened to and heard.

Most of the unnecessary extra baggage we carry is in our mind in the form of doubt, worry, fear, anxiety, condemnation, depression, thinking evil.

Acts 27:9-28:11

Paul had many opportunities to manifest all kinds of worry, doubt, fear, depression, thinking evil, anxiety. Instead he stood and received revelation that saved lives.

Philippians 4:6 Be careful [anxious] for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Prayer. In fellowship with God, trusting God, leads to peace, God’s peace will be there.

Psalm 139:8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

No matter where you are God is there with you and will not fail the promises in His Word.
